Dr Chan specialises in upper and lower eyelid reduction and eyelid lift surgery.
Upper Eyelid Reduction or Eyelid Lift
It is often the first visible sign of aging. There seems to be too much skin on the upper eyelids and sometimes this rests on the eyelashes, giving a tired look. If this is the case then the eyelid reduction or eyelid lift operation is considered NOT totally cosmetic.
Medicare rebates apply to eyelid surgery where the eyelid skin rests on the eyelashes when looking straight ahead. Private hospital insurance will then help cover hospital costs. It will also cover most if not all your hospital cost if you are well insured.
Lower Eyelid Reduction or Eyelid Lift
The skin can become excessive and hangs or becomes wrinkly. Sometimes bags appear due to fat. Often excess skin and fat appear together. This again can give an appearance of tiredness or lack of sleep.
It is very disconcerting to be told "You look tired; haven't you had enough sleep?" when you have had a good nights sleep. It is time to seek some advice and consider an eyelid reduction or eyelid lift operation.
Dr Chan operates regularly at the Mount Hospital, South Perth Hospital and St. John of God Hospital (Subiaco) in Perth, Western Australia.
